About The Rooms

All rooms have a mini-bar fridge (no alcohol license but we do supply wine glasses and a corkscrew/bottle opener). The local (licensed) supermarket is just across the road. Helensburgh was the home of John Logie Baird, the inventor of Television and Alexander Graham Bell, the builder of the worlds first steamship - The Comet. Here you will also find the Hill House, Charles Rennie Macintoshs design masterpiece. With the help of his wife, they also designed all of the interior furniture and fittings. Now a National Trust property it is open to the public from 13:30 to 17:30 from April to September. We make an ideal touring base with Ayr to the South (1 hour)(Robbie Burns country), Fort William to the North (2 hours), Oban to the West (1.5 hours) and Stirling to the East (1 hour) and in the process you will see unrivalled scenery on the way. Of course Glasgow, regarded as the UK's second city for shopping after London, is just a 45 minute drive or the same by train.
