Sinclair House Cancellation Policy

Credit/Debit cards will be pre-authorised for the first night as a deposit (3 nights for the apartment).  No charge will be made if cancellation is notified before 6PM on the day before arrival (7 days for the apartment).  The cost of the first night (3 nights for the Apartment) will be forfeit if notification is later than this (sorry - no excuses).  We do not to accept cheques (Internet bank).   Payment is on arrival and we're sorry, but there are no refunds for early departure.  For stays over 7 nights we reserve the right to take a non-refundable deposit totalling the cost of the first night.   To avoid confusion - cancellation of on-line bookings should be by email and confirmed by me.

Smoking Policy

We are occasionally cursed with selfish and ignorant guests who not only smoke or burn candles in their room, contaminating it with the smell of stale smoke for the next guests, but also cause physical damage to the property and present a clear fire danger. As a deterrent, we have thus reluctantly imposed a £50 surcharge on any guest who willfully disregards the No Smoking agenda. This will be used as a £50 discount for the next guests to use the room!. Guests who we detect as smokers will be required to leave a refundable £50 cash deposit upon registration if not paying by credit/debit card. Unfortunately it appears that it is also illegal to smoke in the porch so smokers MUST go outside to light-up!

Smoking anywhere in our Guest House is against the law!

If you are looking for high quality accommodation in Helensburgh, Sinclair House is perfect base for your visit to Scotland. Unfortunately our accommodation is unsuitable for those who have difficulty with stairs and we do not allow any animals in the house.
